Description
This popular GP2Y0A02 sensor from Sharp produces an analog output ranging from 2.5V at 20cm to 0.4V at 150cm.
Based on Sharp's "typical values", the formula to translate SensorValue into Distance is (the formula is only valid for a SensorValue between 80 and 490):
Distance (cm) = 9462 / (SensorValue - 16.92)
Note: The output of this sensor varies from unit to unit and is based on the target characteristics (reflectance, size, direction of motion, object alignment). If you find that you are not getting good results with the standard formula, you can modify it as you wish to achieve the desired result.
