General Terms and Conditions for the Arduino Defender Game

1. General

1.1. These terms and conditions apply to the Arduino Defender game (hereafter: “the Game”), organized by Otronic.
1.2. By participating in the Game, the participant (hereafter: “Participant”) agrees to these terms and conditions.

2. Participation

2.1. Participation is open to residents of the Netherlands and Belgium, unless otherwise indicated.
2.2. The minimum age for participation is 18. Minors may only participate with the consent of a parent or legal representative.
2.3. Employees of Otronic, as well as their family members, are excluded from participation.
2.4. Participants may only take part under their own name and with a valid email address.

3. Game procedure and results

3.1. The Game is an online game in which Participants can achieve a score.
3.2. On February 14, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. (NL time), the results will be determined based on the highest scores at that moment. The top 10 Participants will receive a prize.
3.3. Participants may play as many times as they wish; only the highest score of a Participant will be included in the final ranking.
3.4. No correspondence or discussion will be entered into regarding the results.

4. Prizes

4.1. The prizes are awarded based on the high score ranking as follows:

3rd Prize: Velleman Soldering Station worth €89
4th to 7th Prize: OTRONIC Codey Online Starter Kit worth €45

4.2. The winners will be notified of their prizes by email.
4.3. If a Participant has provided an invalid or incorrect email address, the right to the prize is forfeited, and the prize will go to the next Participant in the high score ranking who has not yet won a prize.
4.4. Prizes cannot be exchanged for cash or other goods.
4.5. Any gambling tax or other taxes and levies due are the responsibility of the prize winner.

5. Responsibilities and exclusions

5.1. Otronic is not liable for any typographical, printing, or layout errors in communications related to the Game.
5.2. Errors in the Game or in the program do not entitle Participants to any compensation or adjustment of scores.
5.3. No rights can be derived from the information displayed in the Game.
5.4. In the event of force majeure, technical problems, fraud, or other circumstances that make participation or the awarding of prizes impossible or unreasonably burdensome, Otronic reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the Game.

6. Fraud and unauthorized participation

6.1. Otronic reserves the right to exclude Participants from participation without giving reasons if there are indications of fraud, manipulation, or other unauthorized actions.
6.2. Scores obtained unlawfully (e.g., through hacks, bots, or other forms of improper influence) will be declared invalid.

7. Privacy

7.1. The Participant consents to Otronic contacting them via email with the Otronic newsletter or other commercial communications.
7.2. The (personal) data provided by Participants will also be used for communication about the Game and the awarding of prizes.
7.3. Otronic will not disclose Participants’ personal data to third parties unless this is necessary for the implementation of the Game or required by law.

8. Liability

8.1. Participation is at the Participant’s own risk. Otronic is not liable for any damage, costs, or expenses of any kind arising from participation in the Game.
8.2. Unless otherwise required by mandatory law, Otronic’s liability is limited to the nominal value of the awarded prize.

9. Final provisions

9.1. Dutch law applies to these terms and conditions.
9.2. Any disputes arising from or in connection with the Game and/or these terms and conditions will be submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands.
9.3. Otronic may change these terms and conditions at any time. Changes take effect from the moment they are published on the website.
